As we step into spring with a selection of teas on hand, a season of renewal and transition, finding small ways to support our well-being is more important than ever. With the ups and downs of life, stress can weigh on us even when we don’t realize it. One of the simplest and most effective ways I’ve found to manage stress and strengthen my immune system is through tea.

My Journey

Growing up in the South, tea was always around, mostly in the form of a glass of iced tea on a hot day. It wasn’t until my late 20s and early 30s that I truly began to understand its deeper benefits. Moving out of the South, I had conversations with great doctors in the Mid-Atlantic and friends from the North who introduced me to new perspectives on it.

Traveling to Europe and connecting with a diverse circle of friends and colleagues further expanded my understanding. That’s when I started learning about the power of loose-leaf versus traditional bags teas and how different cultures use tea for wellness. A warm cup with honey for a cold, a soothing blend for an upset stomach, or a calming drink to unwind at night became more than just a beverage. It became a form of self-care.

Why Tea Matters for Wellness

Tea is more than just a comforting ritual; it contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and essential nutrients that help the body manage stress and boost immunity. The key is choosing high-quality teas, particularly those from China and India, where some of the best leaves in the world are grown.
